Oklahoma House Passes Near-Total Abortion Ban With Threat Of Prison For Providers

Oklahoma lawmakers passed a bill that would make it illegal to perform an abortion in the state except in medical emergencies, penalizing those who do with up to $100,000 in fines and 10 years in prison.
An abortion ban in Oklahoma would widen a swath of the country where there is little to no legal abortion access.
On March 14, 2022 – The Texas Supreme Court ruled against abortion providers in a federal challenge to the state’s abortion ban, essentially shutting down the last chance to stop the law.
Related to this Arizona House of Representatives passes 15-week abortion ban, sending it to Gov. Ducey’s office.
In Idaho that state passes near-replica of Texas’s ‘heartbeat’ ban on abortion after six weeks which lets relatives sue any doctor who performs a termination after the legal cut-off point.
The state’s Republican-controlled House gives final legislative approval to a bill that would make performing an abortion a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
As a State Congressman to district 63 if elected I too would sponsor or introduce such legislation to reduce abortion in the state of North Carolina.
